17 November 2022, The Hague --- To spread Christmas cheers and convey appreciation to partners and friends, the Embassy of the Philippines, in partnership with the Music for Environment and National Development (MEND) and the Filipino-Dutch community organizations, will host a series of concerts in The Hague, Rotterdam and Amsterdam on December 2 and 3 featuring “The Nightingales” Ms. Bernadette Mamauag and Ms. Katrina Marie Saga.
 
“We are much delighted to bring to The Netherlands the Philippines’ Christmas tradition – coming together, singing and hearing festive Christmas song while reminiscing our nostalgic memories of celebrating Christmas at home,” Ambassador J. Eduardo Malaya said.
 
The Embassy, in partnership with Beagley Copperman, MEND (Music for Environment and National Development), and the United Filipino-Dutch Association ( Ufda Netherlands ) will present the concert dubbed “Himig ng Pasko: A Christmas Concert by The Nightingales” on 2 December, Friday, at the Kalayaan Hall of the Embassy of the Philippines. The onsite attendance to the Christmas concert is limited and by invitation only.
 
The Nightingales’ Concert in Rotterdam “Kalikasan (Environment): A Mini Concert” will be held on 3 December, Saturday, at St. Bavo Church (Slinge 775, 3086 BN Rotterdam), in coordination with the Filipino Catholic Community of Rotterdam and the Knights of Rizal Rotterdam and Amsterdam Chapters.
 
In cooperation with the Philippine Consulate General in Amsterdam and the Filipino LGBT Europe, The Nightingales will perform a “Paskong Pinoy sa Amsterdam: A Night of Music” on 3 December, Saturday, at Amstelkerk, Amstelveld 10, 1071 JD Amsterdam at 7:00 PM.
 
For the concerts, The Nightingales will perform a number of musical pieces ranging from classical to contemporary songs in Filipino, German and French languages.
 
The Nightingales enthralled various audiences in the Philippines and around the world through their unique style of performing a wide-range repertoire of opera arias, Broadway classics, folksongs and popular standards. They have performed in the United States, Canada, China, Africa and Europe.
