(5 May 2017) Inflation in April remained at 3.4 percent, the same rate a month ago, as slower increases in the rest of commodity groups offset higher prices of food, transport and communications.
“Inflation for April was unchanged from the March figure of 3.4 percent. It is within the forecast of 3 to 3.8 percent and brings the year-to-date average to 3.2 percent,” Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas Governor Amando Tetangco Jr. said in a statement.
