The Embassy is pleased to inform the Filipino-Dutch community that the comprehensive renovation of the Philippine Chancery at 125 Laan Copes van Cattenburch, The Hague is in full swing, with the major construction works undertaken, notably waterproofing of the basement to address the previous recurrent water seepage in the area, and the overhaul of the building’s roof.

Ambassador J. Eduardo Malaya and Consul Marianne Bringas recently visited the site and reviewed the progress of the renovation project. This is the first comprehensive renovation of the Chancery building after the Embassy acquired the property in 1968.

Works in the basement included waterproofing, sealing and reinforcement of basement floors and walls, and installation of new drainage and ventilation system. The roofing of the Chancery also had major overhaul with the replacement of the entire roof layers of zinc, wood and bitumen.

With new piping for water, heating, air conditioning and electrical works as well as new window frames and double glasses, the renovated Chancery is expected to be more energy efficient and eco-friendly. The renovated Embassy will also feature a brand new elevator which will facilitate mobility within the 3-floor building. The renovation project is expected to be completed in April 2022.
