The Hague, 25 August 2021 -- The Philippine Embassy participated in the Hague Orientation Program (HOP) Week of the Leiden University – Wijnhaven (The Hague Campus), an introduction program for the University’s first year students taking international studies, international relations and organizations, public administration, security studies and urban studies.
Ambassador J. Eduardo Malaya took the occasion to donate books to the University’s Grotius Centre for International Legal Studies, namely “Philippine Treaties in Force 2020”, co-authored with Atty. Crystal Gale Dampil-Mandigma; “Treaties: Guidance on Practices and Procedures,” co-authored with Prof. Rommel Casis; and “Stewards of the Nation: Aguinaldo to Duterte and their Inaugural Visions,” co-authored with Jonathan E. Malaya.
Consul Ma. Theresa M. Alders made a one-hour presentation on the Philippines to the students, notably its foreign policy and Philippines-Netherlands political and economic relations and cultural and people-to-people connections.
Other embassies and international organizations that participated in University’s HOPweek were Germany, Belgium, Austria, Argentina, South Africa, the ICC, and Europol, among others.
