Maricel “Chelony” Mercado-Lelieveld has had several solo and group art exhibitions in the Philippines, the Netherlands, Belgium and the United Kingdom.
She loves to paint portraits, human figures, nature, still-life, flowers and animals. She has multiple styles (realism and pop-surrealism) and her colors are vibrant. She gets her inspiration from places she has been to, life events, objects with sentimental value, and famous individuals or people she has met.
She studied Bachelor of Elementary Education and took fine arts studies in Antwerp and digital filming in Rotterdam.
Chelony has been teaching arts for 22 years and is active in art events.
