A community member, Ms. Katreena Alyssa Beron, is playing the role “Hua Mulan” in the Dutch premiere of “Disenchanted” by The Cauldron Performing Arts on 4 to 5 and 18 to 20 March 2022 at the Theater De Cameleon in Amsterdam.
“Disenchanted” is a new musical comedy featuring the original storybook heroines and Disney princesses portrayed in today’s pop culture. The Off-Broadway production in 2015 received positive reviews and press from Huffington Post, New York Times, NBC TV, CVS TV, etc.*
Ms. Katreena Alyssa (Katt Alyssa - The Singing Host), a Filipina performer based in the Netherlands has starred in several theatre productions, including “Little Shop of Horrors” (Happily Ever After Productions), “Si Medea” (Langgam Performance Troupe), “Rapunzel! Rapunzel! A Very Hairy Fairy Tale” (Repertory Philippines), and “Ora Et Labora” (Sining Tanghalan). She is also featured in an upcoming Filipino independent film which is set to be released this 2022 on online streaming platforms.
Ms. Alyssa also runs “Party Princess Amsterdam,” where she makes little children's dreams of meeting their favorite fairytale princesses come true on their birthday parties and other events (www.instagram.com/partyprincess.nl and www.facebook.com/kattperforms ).
In 2015, Ms. Alyssa was conferred the Sr. Frideswida Award, a recognition for outstanding contributions through the performing arts, by her alma mater, the St. Scholastica's College - Manila.
