The Philippine Embassy welcomed Ms. Margarita Patricia R. Valdes, Philippine Tourism Attaché for Central and Eastern Europe, who is based in Frankfurt, Germany. She was accompanied by Tourism Administrative Officer Jam Concel during her visit.
 
Ms. Valdes and Ms. Concel are in The Netherlands to attend the Travel Counsellors Meeting.
 
During the visit, Ms. Valdes briefed Consul General Lolita B. Capco on the tourism promotion activities to be conducted by the Philippine Tourism Office this year, in coordination with the embassy.
 
With the recent easing of travel restrictions, the Philippines welcomes Dutch tourists to discover and experience its vibrant culture and exciting tourist destinations, notably Manila, Bohol, Cebu, Vigan, Banaue, and Palawan (the filming location of Monday Media Productions’ “Million Dollar Island” which airs every Sunday, 9:30 p.m., on SBS6 channel).
 
Fully vaccinated Dutch tourists can now enter the country visa-free for a stay of up to 30 days. Other entry protocols include proof of vaccination, negative RT-PCR test taken within 48 hours or laboratory-based antigen test taken within 24 hours, 30-day valid return ticket, valid passport, and travel insurance.
 
From 10 February to 24 March, a total of 1,071 Dutch tourists have visited the Philippines after the easing of travel restrictions. The Netherlands is the 4th largest source of tourists from Europe, next to the United Kingdom, Germany and France.
 
Prior to her assignment in Frankfurt, Ms. Valdes was Chief Marketing and Promotions Executive at the Department of Tourism in Manila from March 2012 to January 2016.
 
Also present at the meeting were Consuls Nomer B. Ado II and Marianne I. Bringas, Cultural Attache Elea Perez, and trade assistant Flor Almodiel Luteijn.
 
The Philippine Tourism Office represents and promotes the country in the European Union, including The Netherlands, through the facilitation and implementation of tourism projects and events, notably webinars and workshops, fairs and expositions, and publicity campaigns in various social and print media platforms.
