The Philippines’ ASEAN Ladies Circle, led by Minister and Acting Patron, Lolita B. Capco, joined the ASEAN Ladies Circle (ALC) - The Hague’s Coffee Morning program on March 25. The event was hosted by H.E. Dato’ Nadzirah Osman, Malaysian Ambassador to The Netherlands and Patron of ALC Malaysia, at her official residence, in observance of the International Women’s Month with the theme “Break the Bias: Imagine a Gender Equal World.”
Guest speaker at the event was Ms. Megan Brinkman-Lee, a Delft-based Malaysian artist, who shared her experience and passion in contemporary and abstract painting as part of her healing process in coping with emotional difficulties.
The program featured a viewing of Ms. Brinkman-Lee’s artwork and a reception showcasing cuisines and delicacies from ASEAN countries, including the Filipino favorite pastry ensaymada.
The event concluded with a tutorial of Malaysia’s line dance “Joget Lambak.”
Representing the Philippines - ALC were Consul Marianne Bringas, Mrs. Nenamarie Osias, Mrs. Gema Revilla, Mrs. Diana Ticzon and Ms. Kieren Batiles.
The ASEAN Ladies Circle is composed of the spouses of the ASEAN Ambassadors and diplomats, namely Thailand (current ALC Chair), Malaysia, Vietnam, Indonesia and the Philippines.
