The Embassy is pleased to inform the Filipino-Dutch community that the completion of the extensive renovation work at the Embassy Chancery at Laan Copes van Cattenburch 125, The Hague, is finally in sight. This is the first comprehensive renovation undertaken since the property’s acquisition in 1968.
The consular section has been relaid-out and enlarged in order to make the Embassy’s consular services more efficient and convenient for the public.
The renovated Chancery building will also feature a large reception hall on the ground floor, which can also serve as a venue for trade, tourism and art exhibits and cultural performances.
Ambassador J Eduardo Malaya recently inspected the on-going renovation and said, “the Embassy is grateful for the efforts of those who made this renovation project possible. Not only will the renovated building lead to better services for our kababayans in The Netherlands, but as it will function as our “municipio” (municipal hall) in this country, it should be a place which Filipinos can be proud of.”
The Embassy conveys its thanks in particular to two members of the Filipino-Dutch community who served as project consultants – Engr. Zita van Beusekom-Casela and Engr. Michael Tibon, Jr.
The completion of the renovation project is expected in mid-May.
