The Philippine Embassy held its final monthly flag raising ceremony at its temporary offices at The Statesman, Churchillplein 5 building, on 2 May. The said location has served as the Embassy’s offices since June 2021 when comprehensive renovation work on the Chancery at Laan Copes van Cattenburch 125 commenced, its first such renovation since the property was acquired by the Philippine Government in 1965.
 
The Embassy will start operations, including consular services, in the renovated Chancery on 16 May. The improvements done in the Chancery, such as the enlarged and redesigned consular section, is expected to make consular operations more efficient and convenient to the public.
 
The renovated building also features a large reception hall on the ground floor, which would serve as venue for trade, tourism, and art exhibits as well as cultural performances.
 
In his remarks to the Embassy personnel after the flag-raising, Ambassador Malaya said that the renovation project is a testament to the Embassy's commitment to continuously improve services and operations, and bring pride to Filipinos in the Netherlands and urged staff members to complement this new facility with fresh enthusiasm and dedication to serve.
 
The Embassy looks forward to welcoming the Filipino-Dutch community and other Dutch friends in the newly renovated chancery.
