Conferment of Knight Grand Officer of Rizal to Embassy Officials

The Supreme Council of the Knights of Rizal conferred upon Ambassador J. Eduardo Malaya the degree of “Knight Grand Officer of Rizal" (KGOR), in “fitting tribute, grateful recognition and appreciation of his exemplary efforts to pursue the vision and imbibe the values of the Knights of Rizal enshrined in its Charter and By-laws.” KGOR is the second highest rank among the members of the Knights of Rizal.

First Secretary and Consul Jarie Osias was also awarded the “Distinguished Service Cross” for “having performed, with honor and selfless devotion to duty, an outstanding achievement of the Order and the Philippines through preeminent and exemplary activities or projects that bring honor and distinction to the country, contributing immensely to the attainment of the Order’s lofty goals and objectives and manifesting profound respect and gratitude to the memory of Dr. Jose Rizal.”

The conferment of awards was made by Supreme Commander Sir Gerardo V. Calderon, KGCR, after the inauguration of the Rizal bust monument at the Embassy’s Rizal Courtyard on 4 July. // END
