The Hague, The Netherlands - A “Meet and Greet” event with the Filipino professionals working at the international organizations in the Netherlands was held last Friday, 15 April 2016 at the Philippine Embassy.
Philippine Ambassador to the Netherlands Jaime Victor B. Ledda welcomed and thanked them for excelling in their respective fields and likened them to envoys for their role in promoting a good image of the country. In attendance are Filipinos who hold positions in the International Criminal Court (ICC), Organization for the Prohibition of the Chemical Weapons (OPCW), International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY), Mechanism for International Criminal Tribunals (MICT), The Hague Conference on Private International Law (HCCH), International Development Law Organization (IDLO), The European Union's Judicial Cooperation Unit (EUROJUST), European Police Office (EUROPOL) and International Statistical Institute (ISI).
Also present was Judge Raul Pangalangan who was elected as ICC judge in June 2015 and his wife, Atty. Elizabeth Pangalangan who has been invited as an expert on several HCCH meetings on family law.
For the past three (3) years the Philippine Embassy in The Hague has been organizing events to touch base with the Filipinos living and working in the Netherlands [END].
