Philippine Embassy Hosts The Hague Academy Students

The Philippine Embassy in The Hague hosted a reception and informal forum on 25 July 2016 for select students attending the Hague Academy International Law Summer Course on Public International Law. Seventeen (17) students from Brazil, France, Greece, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Nigeria, Philippines, Sweden, and Ukraine took part in the event.

The reception was held at the Chancery and was hosted by Ambassador Jaime Victor B. Ledda, along with Consul Shirley Banquicio and Consul Zoilo Velasco. Netherlands-based Filipino lawyers, namely, ICC Judge Raul Pangalangan, Prof. Elizabeth Aguiling-Pangalangan, Dr. Peter Payoyo, Atty. Raymund Sandoval, Atty. Paula Defensor-Knack, and Atty. Florisa Almodiel, were also present as resource speakers during the informal forum. The students actively engaged in and appreciated the spontaneous and interesting exchange of ideas with the resource speakers.

The Embassy visit was organized in cooperation with the Hague Academy for International Law as part of the students’ activities during the summer course. END
