ASEAN The Hague Committee Celebrates 49^th ASEAN Day

The Philippine Embassy in The Hague, led by Ambassador Jaime Victor B. Ledda and Madame Veredigna M. Ledda, joined the ASEAN family in celebration of the 49^th ASEAN Day on 08 August 2016 held at the Indonesian Embassy.

The celebration started with the hoisting of the ASEAN Flag. The program that followed was opened with a message from Indonesian Ambassador I Gusti Agung Wesaka Puja, the host for the ASEAN Day Celebration in The Hague, and by Thai Ambassador Ittiporn Boonpracong, the current Chair of ASEAN in The Hague. The celebration also featured anklung performers from Indonesia, and guests partook in an “ASEAN buffet” with dishes from Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam.

This is the first ASEAN Day celebration since the establishment of ASEAN Committee in The Hague on 06 November 2016.
