Ambassador Ledda delivers his opening remarks during the one-day legal clinic held at the Philippine Embassy in The Hague.
Atty. Purificacion Bertolome-Bernabe gives her lecture on PH human trafficking laws
The Philippine Embassy in The Hague, in cooperation with the International Pro Bono Alliance (IPBA), conducted a one-day free legal clinic on 06 August 2016 at the Embassy’s consular premises. IPBA’s team of lawyers included Atty. Purificacion Bertolome-Bernabe, Atty. Joseph Inocencio, and Atty. Michael Tito R. Sajor. In his welcome remarks, Ambassador Jaime Victor B. Ledda expressed his appreciation and conveyed his gratitude for the visit of the IPBS legal team in the furtherance of their advocacy for Filipinos living and working in The Netherlands. Ambassador Ledda recalled that the activity arose from the Embassy’s survey in 2015 on the other consular needs, including legal services of Filipinos in The Netherlands. The IPBS legal team’s lectures consisted of Philippine laws on property, family relations, citizenship and human trafficking, among others. A one-on-one consultation-meeting with the visiting lawyers capped the day’s legal clinic which provided the opportunity for some twenty-five (25) members of the Filipino Community in The Netherlands to be advised on legal aspects of their respective concerns.
