14 October 2016. The Philippine Embassy in The Hague, led by Ambassador Jaime Victor B. Ledda hosted a reception to celebrate the 65th anniversary of the establishment of Philippine-Netherlands diplomatic relations. The commemorative gathering was held at The Hague’s iconic 134-year old hotel, Hotel des Indes and attended by members of the Dutch government, business community, academe and think-tank institutions, media and the Filipino-Dutch community. In his brief remarks, Ambassador Ledda highlighted the continuing growth of cooperation between the governments of the Philippines and The Netherlands, as well as the increasing people-to-people contacts between the two countries. The reception was also held to send-off members of the Dutch trade mission going to the Philippines on a 3-day business venture, 26-29 October 2016. A brief musical performance by Germany-based Filipina soprano, Nikka Mae Lopez and local harpist, Carla Bos capped the evening’s Philippine appreciation of an enduring and a stronger partnership with The Netherlands and its people in the past years and in the years ahead.
