Ambassador Jaime Victor B. Ledda welcomed representatives of the Filipino community in The Hague, The Netherlands to its first annual meeting in The Hague, The Netherlands. Twenty-eight (28) leaders came to the meeting, representing the following organizations: Leadership and Social Entrepreneurship Training Program for Filipinos in Netherlands (LSE-NL); United Filipino Dutch Association (UFDA); Europinas Investment Club (EPIC); Couples for Christ Netherlands (CFC); Filipino Catholic Community Rotterdam (FCCR); Social Enterprise Development Partnership, Inc. (SEDPI) from Quezon City, Philippines established by Mr. Vince Rapisura in the Philippines; Media Correspondence Volunteer Organization (MCVO); Filippijnen voor Dove en Blinde Kinderen Stichting (Philippines Services for Deaf & Blind Children Foundation); Centrum voor Filippine Vrouwen NL Stichting (Bayanihan Stichting); Kapatiran Stichting; Sangguniang Nayon Stichting; Kapitbahayan Stichting; Filipino Migrants in Solidarity (FILMIS); Kalayaan Fiesta Foundation in the Netherlands (KFFN); World International Ministries Netherlands (WIN-NL); Seaman’s Christian Fellowship Society – World International Ministries (SCFS-WIN); University of the Philippines Alumni Association The Hague (UPAA-NL); Bringing Inspiration Through Actions and Words (BITAW); Economic Resource Centre for Migrants and Overseas Employees (ERCMOVE); Our Church Jesus the Anointed One  (JAI Church); and, the Filipino Catholic Community in Haarlem (FCCH).

Ambassador Ledda updated the FilCom leaders on the priorities and activities of the Philippine Embassy in 2017, including registration for the National Elections in 2019, the continuing campaign by the Office of Public Diplomacy on “Filipinos around the world,” ASEAN activities in celebration of its 50th anniversary, and Post’s au pair program. He emphasized on the support of the FilCom to make these activities a success.

FilCom leaders then apprised the group of their own upcoming activities in 2017.

Mr. Vince Rapisura of the Leadership and Social Entrepreneurship Training Program for Filipinos in Netherlands (LSE-NL) presented an overview of the financial literacy program he is involved in. He also launched his book “(L)earning Wealth, Successful strategies in Money Management, A personal finance guidebook.”

The next FilCom meeting was decided to be held in October 2017 (end).
