Ambassador Jaime Victor B. Ledda and Mrs Veredigna Ledda pose with Chef Myrna Segismundo during the Philippine Independence Day Breakfast at the Philippine Embassy

05 July 2017 – The Hague PE officially started celebrations for the Philippine Independence Day on June 12 through a flag ceremony and breakfast at the chancery. Messages by President Rodrigo Duterte and Secretary of Foreign Affairs Allan Peter Cayetano were read by Ambassador Jaime Victor B. Ledda and First Secretary and Consul Shirley E. Banquicio, respectively.

The Embassy also welcomed three renowned Filipino chefs—Myrna Segismundo, Jill Sandique and Raul Ramos—and writer-publisher Michaela Fenix, who came to the Netherlands as part of their Kulinarya tour.

Chef Segismundo, who also celebrated her birthday, was presented with a bouquet of flowers. The chefs also signed the Kulinarya and the Panaderia cookbooks.

The chefs and Ms. Fenix are in the Netherlands for the third leg of their Kulinarya tour, after London and Brussels. END
