Advisory on the Foreign Surgical and Medical Missions (FSMM) in the Philippines

ADVISORY ON THE FOREIGN SURGICAL AND
MEDICAL MISSIONS (FSMM) IN THE PHILIPPINES
05 September 2016 - The Philippine Embassy wishes to inform the Filipino Community and relevant Dutch agencies in the Netherlands on the Philippines’ Department of Health (DOH) guidelines and policies in the processing and implementation of Foreign Surgical and Medical Missions (FSMM) to the Philippines.
For reference, please see attached DOH’s issued Administrative Order No. 2012-0030 dated 20 December 2012 entitled “Guidelines on Foreign Surgical and Medical Mission Program in Support of Universal Health Care / Kalusugan Pangkalahatan” to institutionalize an effective and sustainable facilitation and coordination between the FSMMs and the Philippine authorities.
Also attached is Administrative Order No. 2016-004 dated 24 February 2016 entitled “Revised Guidelines in the Facilitation and Management of Foreign Donations Involving Health and Health-Related Products” to provide basic information and systems in the facilitation and management of foreign donations in the Philippines.
Notice of Registration and Election to All Filipino Citizens from The Commission on Elections (COMELEC)

Notice is hereby given that under Republic Act No. 9189 as amended by Republic Act No. 10590, all citizens of the Philippines abroad, who are not disqualified by law, at least eighteen (18) years of age on May 13, 2019, and who are registered overseas voters, may vote for Senators and Party-Lists Representatives.
All qualified Filipino citizens who are not registered overseas voters may file their applications for registration at the nearest embassy/consulate or other registration centers authorized by the Commission on Elections.
To register, all applicants must personally appear at the Embassy of the Philippines, located at Laan Copes van Cattenburch 125, 2585 EZ, The Hague, The Netherlands, for biometrics capturing and bring the following requirements:
1) Photocopy of valid passport or if dual citizen,
2) Copy of oath of allegiance or proof of Philippine citizenship from the Bureau of Immigration; or for seamen,
3) Copy of seaman’s book.
Filing of applications for registration shall be from December 1, 2016 to October 31, 2018.
The 30-day voting period will commence on April 13, 2019 until May 13, 2019 (Philippine time) at the Embassy of the Philippines in The Hague. Time of voting to be announced later.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION AND SECURITY MEASURES AT AND AROUND SCHIPHOL AIRPORT
18 August 2016 - The Philippine Embassy wishes to further inform the Filipino Community in the Netherlands that additional visible and invisible measures have been undertaken at and around Schiphol to ensure safety and security of passengers and employees of the airport.
These measures being undertaken will be enforced for as long as the National Coordinator for Security and Counterterrorism (NCTV) considers them as necessary. The NCTV helps to maintain the safety and stability in the Netherlands by identifying threats and strengthening the resilience and security of vital interests. Its ultimate purpose is to prevent and minimize social disruption in case of emergencies. For more information, the Filipino Community can check NCTV’s website: https://english.nctv.nl/.

Advisory - ADDITIONAL SECURITY MEASURES AT AND AROUND SCHIPHOL AMSTERDAM AIRPORT
12 August 2016 – The Philippine Embassy in Netherlands wishes to inform the Filipino Organizations and Community in Netherlands that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands has informed all Diplomatic Missions and Inter-governmental Organizations that in the interest of safety and security of passengers and employees, additional security measures at and around Schiphol Amsterdam Airport are being undertaken. Although some additional measures will be visible and noticeable and will lead to some delays, the leading principle is that travel to and from Schiphol Airport continues.
Passengers travelling to Schiphol by train or car may be stopped for checking by the Royal Netherlands Marechaussee; they should count on an extra half or travel time. The additional security measures at and around Schiphol Airport will remain in place for the foreseeable future.
The Filipino Community is advised to take this into consideration for travel to and from Schiphol Airport.END
